Overview of UK REACH

After the declaration of “Brexit” in 2016, the UK officially withdrew from the EU in 2020. Accordingly, the grace period for the EU REACH was applied until December 30, 2020, and in January 2021, the UK REACH was enforced.

Procedure of registration

1) Downstream User Import Notification (DUIN)

information ECHA registration number will be necessary. The procedure must be followed according to the grace period of the ton unit.

Timeline of registration

  • Non-GB based manufacturers are required to carry out a DUIN to export substances to the UK, regardless of EU REACH registration
  • After notification, the grace period is granted differently depending on the export tonnage band and Hazardous property
