Japan CSCL (Chemical Substances Control Law)

The pollution issues of PCB (polychlorinated biphenyl) in Japan led the Act to be enacted in 1973, allowing a system that assess the hazards to humans for newly manufactured or imported chemical substances and regulate the manufacture, import, and use of chemical substances with the risks of harming the human body through the environment. (World's first chemical substance management system)

Services Provided for Japan CSCL

  • Examination and confirmation of whether the substance is subject to the new chemical substance in Japan
  • Report agency for low-volume and new low-production substances
  • Registration of new chemical substances with amount of at least 1 ton
  • Agency registration of polymer flow scheme and polymer of low concern
  • GLP test according to the Japanese Chemical Evaluation Act
  • Agency registration for Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare’s Safety Act (Labour Safety and Health Act)
  • Advisory for joint report method to protect Korean company’s confidentiality regarding the yearly quantity report of Japanese importers
